Every web host as a limit of doing stuff for you. If you’re a reasonable enough client you won’t have any problem with any of the web host I review here.

Below are the customer service and support limitation I got from HostMonster by asking their support team as an existing HostMonster client.

I hope you find this post useful so you will know what to expect when you decide to go host your website with HostMonster.

Thank you for contacting us!

We apologize for the trouble that you have been having. Here are the answers to your qusetions:

> 1. Installing a third party script which is not bundled on my account. Can you install this? Such as Dolphin, any extra charge?

No, we do not install scritps (bundled or not) onto your account for you; we leave this to you. We can help with connectivity issues, but that’s it. The “bundled” scripts are still 3rd party scripts, we just provide Simple Scripts to install them for you (the one click installs).

> 2. Migrating my account from another web host, which is NOT using Cpanel. Will you be able to do this and make sure everything is moved and working as it were? Any extra charge?

This is not a service that we provide, however EXsitemove.com is a great company that does do this.

> 3. Same as number two, but a Cpanel account on another web host.

See answer to number 2.

> 4. Help me troubleshoot a php application which is not bundled with my account. If there is an error, will you be able to help me troubleshoot it, or it would not be possible?

We do not troubleshoot 3rd party scripts regardless of where they come from. We may be able to assist with basic issues (connectivity, database creation, etc), but we do not offer support on any 3rd party products.

That said, however, we do have a scripting team (employees that happen to know php and other codes) and if you are stuck on something, even though we don’t support coding or other script issues, you can always submit a ticket to them. If they are able to assist, they will try to do so, but it is not a guarantee.

> 5. Can you call me back at my phone number to provide guidance if I need assistance and guidance setting up something on my account?

We do not make outbound Technical Support calls. You are welcome to call us 24/7, or email, or use the Live Chat option 24/7.
